Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing TimeDate ("the Service") at timedate.org, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Use of the Service

You may use TimeDate for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
  • Scrape or cache data in bulk without a commercial API agreement
  • Misrepresent the source of TimeDate data in your own products
  • Use the Service in any way that damages, disables, or impairs it
  • Resell or sublicense API access without written permission

3. Developer API

Free tier API access (100 requests/day) is provided as-is with no uptime guarantee. Paid tiers are subject to a separate API agreement. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate API access for any account that violates these Terms or abuses the free tier. API keys are non-transferable.

4. Data Accuracy

TimeDate provides time, timezone, astronomical, and calendar data for informational purposes only. While we use authoritative sources (IANA tzdata, GeoNames, astronomy-engine), we make no warranty of accuracy. Do not rely on this data for safety-critical, legal, or financial decisions.

5. Intellectual Property

The TimeDate platform, brand, and original content are owned by TimeDate and its licensors. Underlying data sources (GeoNames, IANA tzdata) retain their respective licenses. You may not reproduce or distribute TimeDate's UI, branding, or compiled datasets without permission.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TimeDate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
